July and August are Spain’s hottest months with the average temperature ranging from 24°C and 32°C.
Rain is not often seen during June to August though the northern Mediterranean coast does see some heavy downfalls from time to time. In the South there is occasionally a hot wind from the North though sea breezes stop temperatures from rising too high.
Central Spain and the Southern Atlantic coast have a generally low rainfall though winter snow can be heavy on the Sierras.
North and North West Spain can be influenced by depressions from the Atlantic, particularly in the autumn and winter, making this the wettest and cloudiest part of Spain. Sunshine levels average 3 hours per day during the winter and 8 hours per day in the summer. Summer temperatures are lower than other parts of Spain.
